2014 Speakers
Rebecca Crabb is in her second year as an Associate Product Manager at Google. She currently works on Music at YouTube and previously worked on the Chrome Speed Team. Rebecca graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2012 with a BS in Computer Science and a minor in Entrepreneurship.
Shobana Radhakrishnan is Vice President of Engineering at Mindflash where she is responsible for technical strategy and overall engineering execution. Prior to this, she led the development of high scale cloud-based systems enabling personalization at Netflix. She has also played various engineering leadership roles at Yahoo, Symantec and Excite@Home. Shobana is an active speaker and holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Elisabeth Morant is a first year Associate Product Manager at Google where she works at YouTube on captions and globalization. She graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2013 with a BS in Computer Science and Engineering, where her academic interests included personal robotics and social television. Prior to Google, Elisabeth was the Digital Producer for the TV series KickinKitchen.TV and spent summers working at NBCUniversal and Microsoft.
Nishita Agarwal is a Software Engineer at Facebook, on the Product Infrastructure team. She currently works on the client side architecture for the desktop and mobile websites and previously built the website for feature phones while laying the architecture for Internet.org. She previously interned on the Timeline and Pages team at Facebook and prior to that, graduated from IIT Delhi with a B.S in Computer Science and Engineering. Nishita has been on panels at Grace Hopper, SheCodes and other conferences, has given mobile web tech talks for Facebook.
Dr. Ritu Lal is a leader in Pharmaceutical R&D. She has over 16 years of experience in Biotech/Pharma companies as a senior executive, where she has led preclinical and clinical teams. She has taken compounds from early discovery stage to regulatory approvals and has filed more than 15 Investigational New Drug Applications (IND) in disease areas of neurology, inflammation, virology, pain and oncology. Two compounds have received New Drug Application (NDA) approvals from the US FDA and Ministry of Health and Welfare, Japan (Kaletra® for the treatment of HIV and Horizant® (Regnite® in Japan) for Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS) and Post Herpetic Neuralgia (PHN)). Dr. Lal has a doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacology from the University of Maryland and a Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of Arizona. She has also completed a Master’s program in Management from Stanford University’s Sloan Program at the Graduate School of Business. Dr. Lal has over 60 publications, book chapters and presentations.
